Real stories of Progress

Oli's story

Twenty-year-old Oli was homeless when he came to Parker House, our supported housing scheme for young people in Chorley, earlier this year.

He’d been sofa surfing at friends’ and at his mum’s home but was told it was a temporary arrangement. Oli was out of work and had been in trouble with the police. He suffers with depression and was finding it difficult to get his life on track. As his relationship with his mum and other family members got worse, he had no option but to leave.

Just months after moving to Parker House, and with help from his support worker, Christian, Oli now has a job and the financial independence he’d always wanted.

Since the filming, Oli has turned 21, and shortly after, managed to secure a flat of his own. He’s doing well, and has starting working a few extra hours in his job.
